POSH Affair

This year's POSH Affair will be held on Saturday, November 21 at 6pm. POSH (Perpetuating our School Heritage) is ASA's largest annual fundraiser. Join us for an evening filled with food, drink, silent and live auctions, and fun raffles.
  • Eagles Season Tickets: Raffle is for 2 tickets, section 129, Row 9. Tickets are $50 each. To order your tickets contact Alex Topakbashian.
  • $1000 Nordstrom Shopping Spree: Tickets are $20/ticket. Please email Ani Speirs to purchase your tickets.
  • First Ever Wine Pull: Everyone's a winner! For $20 you can win a bottle of wine worth up to $50. All who enter the raffle will take home a bottle of wine. Consider donating a bottle of wine valued at $10+, more bottles means more fun!
We need baked goods and desserts for the evening. If you volunteered to be on the baking committee this year please check out the VolunteerSpot sheet to sign up. If you did not volunteer for baking but would still like to bake for POSH, follow the link above to sign up. If you have any questions about baking, please contact Hildret Estepanians.

Questions or Ideas? Contact Chrysta Argue, POSH Chairlady. As always, thank you for your support!

Lisa Manookian

NAME Lisa Manookian
CURRENT CITY Ardmore, PA

GRADUATED 1978
SCHOOLING ASA, Lower Merion HS, Bradford Business School
OCCUPATION Legal Assistant
FAVORITE SUBJECT Too many to name

BIO
Lisa has been a Legal Assistant for the past 30 years and has been actively involved in the life of St. Sahag & St. Mesrob Armenian Church (Wynnewood, PA), where she has served as a Parish Council member and chair of numerous parish and Diocesan event committees.  A strong advocate for the youth of the church, Lisa presently represents the church as one of its delegates to the Annual Diocesan Assembly of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America.  In the Philadelphia community at large, Lisa chaired Birthright Armenia’s Art & Jazz SpringFest on the Main Line, which raised over $40,000 for the volunteer organization in 2012.  This year, she co-chaired the symposium/exhibit, We Not Only Survived, We Thrive, held during April 10-12, one of the biggest community-wide events in recent years, commemorating the Centennial Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Lisa has spent years tracking down family members that survived the deportations of 1915. Her mother's family was separated between Armenia, Europe, and the US. She spent time searching the internet and Facebook looking for family members, which resulted in her getting in touch with her family in Yerevan and Norway.

FAVORITE ASA MEMORY
Lisa's favorite ASA memory is the graduating class trip to Armenia in August of 1978. Not only did it provide her with her very first connection to the homeland at the age of 12, but it imbued within her life-long connections which have sustained and nurtured her over the years in service to church and community. Though that first trip was one of many, Lisa never knew she had family living in Armenia, until 2009.

HOW HAS ASA AFFECTED YOUR LIFE?
Lisa strongly feels that her years at the ASA firmly planted the seeds that nurtured her love of heritage long after she left.
